Rosie Vohra Branding
Dedicated the whole day to getting a solid concept for Rosie Vohra. Unfortunately, she's in Berlin at the moment so I'm unable to speak to her face to face.
I reckon there's a lot in the circle idea. It's incorporated in almost all of her work and not only that but
her name has huge potential for typesetting. Both her first and surname are 5 characters each and the O in her name are both the second letter in each name.
I roughly drew a circle that fits one of her pieces. Rosie incorporates circles in her work to 'round everything off' or to bring everything together and make it look more refined.
This was an initial idea, incorporating the circle with her named typed out. In this case I've used Apercu because it's quite a neutral typeface so it works for now. I've also used a neutral typeface to keep the balance between the name and the hand drawn nature of the circle.
In this instance, I've placed the name within the circle. Above is a comparison of the two.
I printed out the intial ideas I had and started annotating them. Initially I was abit skeptical whether the circle would work or not as it's quite a generic shape and an obvious aspect to use. I asked for feedback from a few people in the studio and Joe said he thought the circle worked well and the potential in the circle is too great not to use. He also mentioned it could be used as a device in her stationary.
It's a shame Rosie isn't in the UK as it'd be a goo idea to have her draw a circle.
