Owl Concept.

A tad late in the game, I must admit, but after the crit, I took a bit of time to reflect the story of each brief and realised that my Owl brief didn't have a solid concept. The only thing going for it was the fact it was based in Leeds and focused on unsigned bands and local talent. The designs I've come up with so far reflect that quite well, but I feel I've been designing blindly. The instrument illustrations were, although aesthetically all very well,  an obvious choice and lacked depth. It may be a case of me returning to the illustrations (but a bit more refined) but in the meantime, I've taken time to think more about the real purpose of the brief and what I could do to make it a bit more interesting.

I took some notes about what the concept would be based on. I also took time to research owls, more specifically, European Eagle - Owl (which is the owl featured on the coat of arms.)

The key notes I gained from the research was that they have binocular vision and are able to turn their heads 270degrees. 135 degrees each direction.

Owls are also known as a symbol of night. Night activities might be a theme for Owl.
