Not knowing where to start, I had a look at other examples of tickets and their dimensions.
I particularly liked the wide ticket for the 1972 Munich games, and the large space allows for a really nice design,
I have also looked at alternative dimensions The ticket (above) is for the 1932 Olympic Entry ticket for Berlin. The dimensions for the ticket were 5 X 2.8 inches. This made for a slimmer ticket and is slightly more conventional.
To get a better sense of the scale, I decided to measure the dimensions on paper and create a blank ticket. This was, as mentioned, to get a sense of scale and how I could hold it in my hand.
A side by side comparison
It's considerably larger than the 1932 ticket, it feels more like an invite rather than a ticket. Perhaps I could use the smaller one for the ticket and the wide one for an invite.
